Long instructions are awkward
IME composition and terminal input compete with each other. Editing a paragraph before sending should not be a workaround.
Android SSH for coding agents
A mobile-first SSH terminal for Claude Code, Codex, tmux and herdr. Send long instructions without fighting the terminal, tap fullscreen TUIs directly, and keep your session alive while you switch apps.
Why JP SSH
Moving a desktop terminal onto a phone does not solve long-form input, touch-driven TUIs or session survival across app switches.
IME composition and terminal input compete with each other. Editing a paragraph before sending should not be a workaround.
Choosing one Claude Code option should not require repeated arrow-key taps on a tiny accessory row.
Looking up a document or locking the screen can leave a normal Android SSH process frozen or disconnected.
Built for the workflow
Compose, edit, paste or dictate a complete instruction, then send it to the terminal as one ordered payload.
Detects xterm mouse reporting and translates taps, wheel gestures and drags for Claude Code and tmux.
A foreground service and visible notification keep a user-started SSH session available across app switches and screen lock.
Send recurring prompts in one tap, with Esc, Tab, Ctrl+C and arrow controls available without opening another keyboard.
Save a post-connect command per host and land directly in the session you actually use.
# Post-connect examples herdr attach satellite-agent tmux attach -t daily-long-short # Tailscale MagicDNS works too ssh gpu-server.tailnet.ts.net
Four steps
JP SSH does not bundle an agent or VPN. It is a focused client for the SSH, tmux and Tailscale environment you already operate.
Use Tailscale, another VPN, LAN access or normal public SSH.
Store the endpoint, username and authentication choice on the device.
Add the tmux or herdr command you want to run after login.
Tap the host and work through touch, snippets or long-form input.
Local-first security
There is no JP SSH cloud account or relay. Traffic goes directly to the SSH server you specify.
Shows the algorithm and SHA-256 fingerprint, and refuses a later host-key change.
Passwords and private-key passphrases are kept in memory only for the connection attempt.
Generated keys and known_hosts are excluded from Android cloud backup and device transfer.
The app contains no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or telemetry SDK.
Simple pricing
JP SSH focuses on the personal remote-development workflow rather than cloud sync and team administration.
FAQ
No. JP SSH connects to tools already running on a server you control.
No. Any SSH server reachable from the Android device can work, including LAN, VPN and public endpoints.
Enable tmux mouse mode with set -g mouse on. Claude Code also needs its fullscreen TUI for direct mouse selection.
No developer-operated server is involved. Authentication data is used only in the encrypted SSH connection to the server you chose.
Not currently. The app is designed around Android IME behavior and foreground-service lifecycle.
Yes. JP SSH is a client and does not provide cloud compute or an SSH account.
